Alex was always trying to escape from nearly everything. Escape from all the errors of his past, escape from his totally maladaptive way of dealing with things, escape from escaping. He was always looking for a clean getaway, a fresh start which he normally failed to get, meanwhile jumping from escape plan to escape plan to escape plan like some Air-force Captain imprisoned in Colditz.

This time though he’s really managed the mother of all escapes. He’s escaped to a totally different dimension.
